Long Weekend Loving

(This post is incredibly delayed. Blame it on exams and recovering my brain from said exams on spring break. Promise to post more regularly in the future)

Happy Monday! What Mondays are ever truly happy? I suppose long weekends or.... a short week before spring break! Yes, a nice week and a few days of relaxation. Can't wait!! But before we fly by and miss this week and this past weekend, how was yours?

I had a somewhat extended weekend thanks to our school's annual formal on Thursday night. It was a nice classy affair that followed the ultimate girls afternoon of lunch, getting make up and hair done and pre-party champagne. It was nice to unwind with my classmates and see our professors in a more relaxed environment. All of the celebrations and a late night out combined with a dreary, rainy NYC day turned Friday into hibernation mode. Aka lots of sleeping with breaks to meet with a personal trainer and a simple dinner out with a friend (Empanada Mama's in Hells Kitchen).

The city was consumed with dreary weather this weekend and so Saturday was pretty similar except far more productive and capped off with Big Daddy's Diner (Upper East) and 21 Jump Street with another friend. Nice girly date out though the movie was kind of blah in an "insert laugh here"kind of way.

I topped off the weekend with an attempt to walk the length of Manhattan with an old friend of mine. It was something I had always thought would be a cool idea but never thought I'd actually do. Unfortunately the rain washed us out and we were drawn into some Ethiopian comfort food around 46th (we started up at 191st), but have no fear! We already are making plans to complete our journey. If you've never done it I highly recommend it. One of the most fascinating things about NYC is that every few blocks the vibe and personality of the neighborhoods completely evolve. It reminded me of how fortunate I am to live in the middle of this awesome melting pot of the world. I'll leave you with some of our many pics taken along the way. Please excuse the overcast weather + iPhone camera :)

Hope your week is off to a great start!
